Graduate Students

ØInitial certification students must apply for formal admissions to the School of Education no later than 12 credit hours after Graduate School Admissions.  Requirements include the following:

ØAttain passing scores on the following Praxis Pre-Professional Skills Tests: Reading, Writing, & Math

ØShow evidence of having taken, at the graduate or undergraduate level:

                3 credits of college U.S. History Elementary Education)

                6 credits of college level mathematics

                3 credits each of college level English Composition & English or American Literature

ØMaintain a GPA of 3.0 or better in graduate courses at Holy Family

       

Undergrad students

ØApply for formal admissions to the School of Education before the end of sophomore year.  Requirements include the following:

Ø48 earned college level credits

Ø2.8 cumulative GPA for admission to the School of Education; 3.0 cumulative GPA at completion

ØAttain passing scores on the following Praxis Pre-Professional Skills Tests: Reading, Writing, & Math

ØEarn 3 credits each in college level English Composition & English Literature (grade C or better)

ØEarn 6 credits in college level Math (grade C or better)

ØTwo faculty recommendations and School of Education approval
