Cooperative Education and Internships – a professional work opportunity meant to enhance academic coursework. Co-op positions are paid and internship positions are not. Both offer academic credit. The Co-op Department, located in Lourdes Hall, will be moving to the new Education Technology building in August. We have opportunities for ALL MAJORS in the Schools of Business and Arts and Sciences. We send jobs for Nursing and Education majors to their respective school deans since they exist on a non-credit basis. Students are encouraged to visit our web site to seek potential companies/organizations to consider for placement. Staff members also visit classes by invitation of the faculty. Please contact us to make an appointment to apply for co-op or internship placement anytime.
The three programs available to both full-time and part-time students:
1. Parallel Program – the most popular of the three programs, students attend classes and at the same time obtain vitally needed practical experience in their chosen field of study.
2. Job Enrichment – for the student who is already working and is offered a chance to earn academic credit either working in another department, or assigned a special project.
3. Alternating – the student alternates full-time periods of work with full-time periods of study.
Prerequisites: Resume approved by a member of the Co-op Department, view the video Gettinghired.com on closed reserve at the University Library or Career Services Office, written Learning Objectives on what you hope to gain from the co-op or internship experience reviewed by and signed off on by a faculty member of your choice.
National and international programs are also available in the Walt Disney World College Program in Florida, DisneyLand of Paris, Marne la Vallé, France; Quebec, Canada. The Washington Center and federal agencies, throughout Washington, D.C., as well as others.

This is a two-year grant program for the purpose of evaluating the school district’s obesity prevention program design. Students will have the opportunity to participate in any level of the project. This includes after school, during special events in the evenings and possibly weekends and before school. Students will be able to contribute to program planning and execution as well as the research portion of the project and some school and city policy work as well. This internship is open to students enrolled in law school or planning to enroll and are residents of Pennsylvania. Each summer, Senator Casey selects one applicant to serve as a paid intern for six weeks in his Washington D.C. office. Interns spend the majority of their time working on key projects and interacting with outside non-profit organizations. Interns also enjoy in-depth exposure to MBM, the management philosophy that helped make Charles Koch an extraordinarily successful businessman and enabled his company, Koch Industries, to become the largest privately held company in North America. In addition to 72 baseball games, the front office staff has organized and managed three large concerts, a snow tubing park, an ice skating rink, and various corporate and group events/outings. The staff consists of approximately 20 full time staff members and interns. Responsibilities vary by department: Accounting interns assist finance director in account management and processing; Box Office interns assist the manager in ticket sales and seating; Corporate sales interns assist for sales department on various projects and client services; Customer service interns assist in group event management and service; Marketing interns assist with promotional materials and events and handle mascot appearances.
