“ON STATION” Amateur Radio Club

KB3KYL

A HAM Radio Club for Lightship, Lighthouse and Marine Radio Enthusiasts

Founded 2004 By:Dave FarrenW3QMR, William HouserKN3EUF and Mark WhittingtonKC2JWL

A Lightship that is protecting an exact location at sea is said to be “ON STATION”.  Lightships once served, and Lighthouses still serve, as a beacon to marine traffic. They provide a warnings of a dangerous reef, shoal, bend in a river and even serve as an entrance to a busy harbor channel.  Radio has played an important role in marine traffic safety, as did the “Light Keeper”.

We invite you to become a member of “ON STATION” Amateur Radio Clu(OSARC), a club that will help preserve the tradition of the “Light Keeper” through Ham Radio Fellowship and FUN activities.
