FIFTY YEARS AGO

The Peace Corps was established by Executive Order 10924, issued by President John F. Kennedy on March 1, 1961, and authorized by Congress on September 22, 1961. In February 1962, John Glenn became the first American to orbit the Earth.

After months of intense preparation, Holy Family achieved a significant affirmation when the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools granted accreditation status to Holy Family College in December 1961.

In order to graduate, students had to complete these general requirements: theology (16 credits); philosophy (18 credits); English (14 credits); modern language (12 credits); art & music appreciation (2 credits); natural science (8 credits); social science (8 credits); psychology (3 credits); physical education ( 2 years).
